(In English first and then in French).
Hello everyone, (Google translator, thank you) :emotion-5:
After checking the compatibility of the accessory with my printer model, I bought a black ink cartridge for Dell-branded printer V515w All- in-One. In case, here is the detailed description of this cartridge, copied from the website Dell.ca :
Dell Ink Mono Series 21 Standard Yield
Manufacturer 14N0014
Dell Part # A3124365
Registered p / n Y498D
Cost $ 18.99 cdn
I had previously used a Dell Series 23 black ink cartridge high yield 14N1020 Manufacturer Dell Part A3124361 p/n x751n
I used the same installation method as that used in the previous installation of Dell cartridges . After removing the cartridge 23 series, I inserted the new cartridge series 21 in the compartment provided for this purpose. I did hear the '' click '' proving the correct position of the cartridge in the compartment of the printhead .
When I closed the lid after installing the new cartridge, the printer display reported - Black cartridge missing - Install new cartridges to prevent damage to the print head (end).
Despite many installations and following the troubleshooting steps recommended by the Dell technical support , including disconnecting the power followed by careful relocation of the accessory with two fingers of each hand thread, the printer stubbornly refuses to recognize the new series 21 cartridge. This is perhaps not specific to this printer model and can also occurs maybe to the printers manufactured by other companies buyers.
Note that the previously used cartridge still contains ink and is recognized by the printer and still serves me . It will drain completely shortly though.
Moreover, it is unfortunate that Dell cartridges are purchasable at the Dell company. In the case of a manufacturing defect, replacement of the defective product to another becomes tedious.
Interesting isn’t it?
Excuse the English please. I did the best I could.
Thank you all for your help and good day to you f .:emotion-42: In French....

:emotion-42:

I experienced this one and i was close to giving up. Good thing my friend suggested to try some techniques that worked on another printer brand.
Here are some tips that you can follow:

I experienced the same issue with the print head not printing in Black Ink. I can't tell you how many much I've spent on Ink cartridges trying to get this stupid printer to work. I was just about to call Dell regarding this print head issue but decided I try Isaiah Jones' recommendation and yahoo, it worked!!! I previously tried following the manual steps but that didn't work either. I even took the carriage out to clean it as instructed in manual it but nothing worked. Isaiah, your friend is a genius, thank him/her for me, and THANK YOU for posting the resolution.
I've been having printing issues with this model V515w since day one of purchase; spent hours and weeks talking with Dell Techs to help fix other printing issues. Dell even re-imaged my PC trying to fix the issue as the PC was not communicating with the printer. After weeks of phone calls and taking notes of all the Techs I spoke with, FINALLY, one female Tech figured it out. Turns out the the original issue was incorrect Printer Driver installed by the previous Techs via phone. Dell should be paying me for putting up with their support group of all the hours and hours I've spent on the phone trying to resolve my printing and software issues.

ISAIAH, :emotion-5:
I followed every step of your suggestion. Unfortunately, the method did not work. I did ordered many cartridges in the past coming from Dell. This new cartridge is perhaps not correctly installed because poorly manufactured. I called the company and I am awaiting a response. Thank you Isaiah for attempting to resolve this very interesting problem which cost me a waste of time. it was very appreciated. Excuse my English. Have a nice sunny day .

I'm having the same problem. The cartridge that came with the printer is Series 21 Model V313 and the P/N Y498D. The one they sent me they said should work is Series 24 P/N X768N which when inserted says Cartridge Not Supported. I have tried above method, doesn't work. Very frustrating.
Have you heard from Dell with a remedy?

Hi Laney 1
My problem started in December 2013 when ordering the black ink cartridge Series 21 For V515w (red) printer ... I opened the envelope only in March , meanwhile I did use the black ink cartridge which was already inside of the printer between 27 December 2013 and March 2014. I did order many cartridges before without any puzzled situation.
I passed through many steps since the beginning of March 2014 and although Dell has given me a credit of $ 21 including tax, which was not an easy task, I still have not received the same type of cartridge promised . It has supposedly been shipped March 28 2014 but I have not received it yet . However, I am in possession of the delivery note they sent to me by internet ...
I buy a black ink cartridge which cost $ 21 to avoid having to go to Purolator to take possession of it. Maybe $21 is not expensive enough.
I wrote to the clerk whom I deal with. Answers take time to come. To call the Dell company? I just do not have time Laney ...I work at night and sleep during the day.
I cannot print from the beginning of March . Printer very very useful ... Very very frustrating as you say .
I desperately searched for an equivalent compatible ink cartridge that I could buy in an Office Depot for example. Trying to resolve my problem, I saw the words Lexmark and Lexmark Dell on the Dell website.
Having to order my cartridges from Dell (a reputable company ) is not very convenient and limits a level of satisfaction that previously was very good.
Next step? Website of Office Depot...Excuse my English. Have a good day anyway. Good luck Laney 1. F
