Dell V305 Printer Hangs up when Printing
I followed other/older information regarding this very issue. I have had NO problems until the last 2 weeks after using this printer for 2-3 years. I have removed ALL old drivers, etc. downloaded the drivers from Dell (2 different times). Each time, the printer will successfully print 1 time & 1 time only, then will hang up at anywhere from 5% to 60%. The job will not cancel or leave the queue so that I must then shut down my entire computer & restart. I have tried printing from my laptop & my PC. . . with the same results. I hate the thoughts of buying a new printer (which will NOT be a Dell), but it seems that this might be my only option! Any other suggestions before I chuck this thing out the window?

mddearest,
Two options that are causing print problems. The first is Internet Explorer 11 was installed in December causing the problem.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.
Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.
Options are to turn off the balloon tips, start, control panel, devices and printers, right click on your printer, printer preferences, advanced, more options. (I don't recommend this. You can't tell when you're low on ink)

Hi -
I am having the same problems with my printer V305. Sometimes it will print OK, other times it hangs up and I have to cancel print jobs as administrator, or run the "delete print jobs" as outlined in the other link. I am printing postal labels; after I cancel the print jobs, mess around with the printer (turning it on and off, unplugging it) and restarting the computer, it may or may not eventually spit out the label. Today it took me 3-1/2 hours to print 4 labels. I have Vista, IE 9. What could be the problem? Thank you!

jrp125,
Try turning off the printers balloon tips?

I have not tried that yet. I spent most of the day yesterday running all my Anti Virus, Malware, Ad Aware, etc. and had a lot of fixes. This morning the printer worked like a charm - I printed 4 in a row with no problem. You said above you do not recommend turning off the printers balloon tips. What will happen if I do this? Also, I have a new Dymo 450 Turbo printer that I was going to try to install just for labels; I put the CD in the computer and nothing happened! I have a Dell Studio XPS 435MT. Is there a easy fix for this problem (the CD) - I went on Dell and tried to download the Dell System download they suggested and it would not download.

jrp125,
I don't recommend turning off the printers balloon tips, but it can be used as a last resort. Since this printer was made for Dell by Lexmark and Lexmark got out of the printer business, drivers and other options are getting limited.
You won't see the ink levels, unless you manually check for them.
