Dell V305 installation issues
Hi!
I really need some help please. I'm installing my mom's old printer onto my laptop and it keeps coming up with an error.
I've installed the V305 software and am using a cable to set up the network connection. It said my security key was invalid so I changed it and that error went away but now it just keeps telling me that it can't connect to the network.
I've cleared the network info from the printer, changed my SSID, changed the wireless mode and channel and done the obligatory shut down and restart of the printer and laptop numerous times but the error keeps appearing.
I don't know what to do as I want to use the printer wirelessly but I've run out of ideas!
Thanks,
hannah

Hi all,
I've managed to set it up with the PIN method.
Thank you all for your help.

DELL-Jesse L,
Thanks for getting back to me. I've downloaded and the file and run the setup but got the same error message.
"Connection failed. Your printer could not connect to your wireless" etc,

Hannah,
Try this procedure and see if the printer installs.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit.
On the printer, click on the wrench. Look for reset the wireless adapter back to factory settings and reset it. You'll then have to setup the printer like it's new, on all systems.
Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode you’ll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time (powered on).
Links to the drivers can be found at…

Hi Rick,
This hasn't worked either - the vista drivers wouldn't open in compatibility mode so I did it through windows 7 and it installed but wouldn't connect.
Thanks,
Hannah
