Dell C2665dnf Color Laser Printer - Scan to WSD is not working
Details as below. Any suggestions please?
Dell C2665dnf Color Laser Printer.
Scan to WSD is not working.
Printer is registered on two PCs and both PCs can print to printer.
Both PCs appear in the "Scan to WSD" list but the device won't scan to either PC.
Scan timeout error. Job cancelled.
PCs have Windows 8.1 installed.
Printer has fixed IP address.
User is a local administrator on both PCs.
Verified that scanner works using "Scan to USB".
Turned off printer and both PCs.
Unplugged power cable and network cable from printer.
Waited 5 minutes.
Reconnected printer cables and powered on printer.
Waited for printer to initialise then powered on both PCs.
Verified that both PCs could still print to printer and that "Scan to USB" was still working.

This was a firewall issue.
In any case, 'Scan to WSD' is not useful in a small office as it requires running backwards and forwards between the scanner and the PC, and it seems to provide only basic functionality.

interesting problem.
Scan to WSD is definitely working under windows 7.
Since your printer can detect the 2 local network PC..
Try to initiate the scanning from the PC end.
From Control Panel\Devices and Printers\
1.click on the C2665dnf printer
2. Observe the top banner, you should see [Scan XXX ] wording
3. From the printer , insert a page into the printer's scanner glass
4. From Computer, click on the [Scan xxx] ..it should be able to scan..
One tricky part: Microsoft WSD is not that friendly..the default profile usually ask to pick from Glass..
If you want to pick from Document feeder, change the scan profile setting from the Computer to pick from ADF otherwise you will get error.
