Dell All in one 944 printer on windows 8
I just upgraded to Windows 8 and was wondering if there is any way to make it work. I saw it is not supported on Windows 8 but wasn't sure if there is a way to make it compatible. Any help would be great.

budd63343,
Instructions may be a little different, so please bear with me. I see most Dell 900 series Inkjet printers are not compatible with Windows 8. Microsoft Windows 8 Compatibility with Dell Printers I cannot guarentee this will work.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 8 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 8 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista SP2 Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).
Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Remember virus program and firewalls will block communications. If you did not install any virus program, then Windows Defender is the virus program, try these instructions as it should be similar. Allow Printer past Microsoft Essentials
