C1765 NFW error code 093-933 replace black cartridge
My C1765 nfw shows error code 093-933 Replace Black Cartridge although the cartridge is new. I have carefully cleaned the contacts to the cartridge inside the printer, performed a reset to defaults, initialised the NVM - no result.
The printer is 3 1/2 years old, not really a lot of printing performed. I have used Dell cartridges as well as refilled ones.
Could anyone from Dell help please? I have seen a lot of other posts with the same problem (!) and I cannot see that someone suggests a definite error reason and a solution.

Jesse,
I have solved the problem. I learned in the web that the top of the cartidge is in fact a chip that sends information about the cartridge toner status to the printer. Considering that simply this chip might be broken I tried a different new cartridge and it works again. Thus, its a fault of the cartridge rather than the printer. This seems to happen also with original Dell cartridges sometimes.
However, as a feedback - it would be good if such information was given by Dell so customers can track such an error.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for reply Jesse, but I have already replaced my toner cartridge with a new one, renewed firmware, tried various settings, cleared the NVM, loaded default settings etc. - no result. My question was several hours of trials and investigations (in this forum) beyond the instructions given in your reply. Any further advise or idea?
Thanks for help .....

Milliampere,
Is the current toner cartridge a refill or from Dell?

Jesse,
the current (new) one is a refill of a type that has worked reliably since I own this printer. I have now and then purchased original Dell cartridges but not since 6-12 months or so. I have tried to change the setting of 'Original Dell Toner Yes/No' but without any success.
I have seen that some users with this issue have been given the advice in this forum to try it with a original Dell cartridge instead. As far as I can see noone had success with this but has rather spent another 50-80 Euro before giving up on the printer. I definitely want to avoid that extra frustration 'on top'.
Thanks for your help!

I keep putting a new ink cartridge "K" cyan but the printer does not recognize it and says that I have to replace it. MY service tag is , Express service code
Please help. I cannot buy another when I think that one will not work either. These cartridges are too expensive!
