WD19TB dock cycling fan after firmware 01.00.24.01
Dell Command Update installed new firmware on my WD19TB dock this week. Ever since it has been installed, the docking station's fan will spin up and down about every 3 seconds, without ever stopping. It happens whether the laptop is being used or is idle, and even when the laptop is asleep or not even connected. At times while the laptop is being used the docking station fan will switch to run constantly, but then instead of shutting down it goes back to spinning up and down every 3 seconds.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this with package 01.00.24 (MST 5.06.03)? Can Dell look into this? Also, is there anyway I can downgrade the firmware back to 01.00.21.01 or some other previous version?
Thank you,
Kevin

I had the same issue after 01.00.24. What actually fixed it for me was simply hard power cycling the dock itself. Shut down my laptop, unplugged the dock from its power supply for about 15 seconds, plugged it back in, and haven't had the issue since. My next step was going to be a firmware downgrade, but this seems to have fixed it for me.

Ah, turn it off and back on again -- I'm even in IT, I can't believe I didn't think to try that! Worked for me too, thank you so much for replying!!

Yes, thanks for posting.. with my desk power distribution I never thought of power cycling the dock. Power cycled last night, and all is quiet on the dock front this morning!!
Great & simple solution - the best kind.
