TPM upgrade to 2.0 for m6700 & Windows 11

I would like to upgrade my m6700 to Windows 11, but everything is pointing in the direction of not possible.

The TPM is 1.2, rather than 2.0.  I have tried up update, and trouble shoot, but it appears not to be possible - resulting in "system tpm query failed," when trying to install.  I have followed online trouble-shooting instructions (https://blog.arnonerba.com/2019/05/dell-tpm-1-2-to-2-0-upgrade-instructions, and https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000103639/how-to-troubleshoot-and-resolve-common-issues-with-tpm-and-bitlocker) without any success.

running the Windows 11 Healthcheck, it also suggests that my processor is not supported (Intel i7 3940XM CPU @3.00GHz).

If anyone else has had success, I would very much welcome your insight.

With thanks in advance.

Regardless of the TPM version, Windows 11 is not supported on this system -- the CPU is too old (you need a 2018 or newer, 8th generation CPU for Windows 11 support).

You can install Windows 11 without TPM support -- but bear in mind Microsoft has publicly stated that though it will work for now, an update may come in the future that requires a supported CPU -- at which point it'll be end of the road for this system and Windows 11.

@Popplestone

10 will install on a potato and 11 on a turnip.

Secure boot and TPM and CPU version and ram are optional.

You do need 64 bit vista/7/8/10 drivers and at least a pentium d 915 cpu with 4 gigs ram.

clean install of 11 is possible using the 11 iso and RUFUS 3.18 or newer.  Requires USB 2.0 32 gig fat32 flash drive and WIN 11 iso.
