Someone knows the thermal pad thickness under the heat sink on the dell precision 3571?
Hi everyone.
i have dell precision 3571 and i replaced the motherboard a few weeks ago,
after that the cpu temperature is not good compared to before the replacement.
so i am going to repaint the thermal paste again.
i going to use PTM7950 pad for cpu and replace the VRM thermal pads.(while replacing, the thermal pad was torn)
Does anybody have experience with PTM7950 and know the thickness of the thermal pad under the heat sink ?
thanks

i repainted the thermal paste with the PTM7950 and now cpu temperature is very good.
the cpu temp is 50 degree at idle and 80 degree at workload. even then maximum peak temp is 90 degree under 80w turbo.
No thermal throttling is observed and the laptop seems to be working on it's thermal schedule.
the gpu temperature doesn't have no much difference. it's 50 degree at idle and 60 degree at workload.
i wonder why dell doesn't use this good thermal pad. i think the shin-etsu thermal paste provided by dell is not suitable for the high performance cpus like the 12700h.
(ps: i used 0.5mm Thermalright ODYSSEY pad for vrm and it's a little thin. it should be 1mm pad.)

oliberbobo,
\We see that you ordered thermal paste and will check the system after applying thermal paste. Keep us updated.
