Precision M6500 i5 (dual core) to i7 (quad core) possible?
Hi, I have a M6500 i5 540m dual-core, looking to change the CPU to an i7 quad core.
Someone has managed to change their dual-core processor (i5 540m, for example) to a quad-core i7 (i7 840qm, for example) with success on this machine.
Thanks

I confirm that it is possible to install an i7 840qm quad-core on a precision M6500 with i5 dual core motherboard from factory. The only drawback, the two ram slots that are not installed by default on these models. But the quad-core CPU works very well.

Thanks for your reply.
But I still have my doubts.
I want to know if anyone has done it successfully, because my motherboard came with a dual core CPU and two less ram slots, and I have not been able to find out if anyone has successfully changed their CPU to a quadcore on this model of motherboard.
