Precision 7560 GPU module
Hello, I just ordered a Precison 7560 from the Outlet without discreet graphics, and I'm wondering if I can buy a used graphics card module and install it myself. I've googled and found no information about this, not even what type of module it uses. But I see that there are used ones for sale on eBay and they say they're from the 7560. Is it just a matter of popping off the keyboard, removing some panels, applying some thermal paste, and slotting in the GPU?

Dell's Service Manual details the procedure to remove a GPU card (you need that procedure to see what you must disassemble to reach the GPU area) and to install a GPU card .
As you ordered a laptop without the discrete GPU card, it likely will not contain the required heat sink, so you must buy that as well. You may also need separately to buy a GPU fan, if the heat sink you buy doesn't include it. I'm not familiar with your model, so I'm just raising possible needs based on what I see in the manual. You'll need to buy thermal pads for components around the GPU, plus extras in case you ruin any of the thermal pads near the CPU.
Whenever touching components or working inside a computer, wear a grounded wrist strap, also called anti-static wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or ground bracelet. It's a cheap and sensible precaution. Rest the laptop on an anti-static mat or at least a reasonable alternative such as corrugated cardboard.

Thank you! I could only find a written procedure that said something like "Insert the GPU", but this is much more helpful. It looks like the right part of the heatsink is for the graphics card but only has thermal pads if a card is installed. Hopefully the laptop includes the entire heatsink/fan assembly and I can just add thermal pads.

Hi,
I'm in the same boat as you and would like to add a nvidia gpu into my 7560 too. Did you find out if the other parts that needed are inside the system already? Is it only the gpu card itself I would need to get?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated:)
