Precision 5560 wont start
Last night i was worked on my precision 5560 workstation and it was working totally normal but now it wont start.when i push the power button the keyboard lights turn on and nothing else. the screen is completely black , charging is also not working. i tried hard resetting it by pushing the power button for about 30 seconds but still to no avail.
should i take it to repair centre or is it something that can be fixed at home ?

So i went to the repair centre. the guy there removed the back panel and disconnected the battery and then he connected the charger and the laptop turned on when he pressed the power button .
then he disconnected the charger -> connected the battery again -> closed the backpanel and now the laptop works fine
I think i could have done it at home but i didnt have the required screw driver to open the laptop

What kind of work were you doing on the laptop? If it worked before and not now then something happened during the process. Check your cables and connections on the MB. And a reset is done by disconnecting the battery and adapter, pressing and holding down the power button for 30 seconds, and then reconnecting everything and attempt to boot.

@Talha007 Sorry but when you stated that you worked on it, I assumed you meant that you had taken it apart for cleaning, upgrading, etc. Did you follow the steps I described and not just holding down the power button? Does the adapter light go out when plugged into the laptop? A system not charging could be a defective adapter, DC jack problem, MB problem, or a worn out battery.

The battery is internal so i cant just disconnect it . I did disconnect the adapter and tried to hold down the power button for 30 seconds but the problem persists

@Talha007 This video at YouTube describes how to access the battery and to reset the system, it has to be disconnected as I described. If you are not comfortable doing it then a reputable computer service tech can do it for you.
