Dell Precision 5530 64GB RAM upgrade showing only as 32GB
After updating the RAM from 32GB to 64GB, the computer is only showing 32GB. Is this a BIOS issue? I am currently running BIOS version 1.27.0. Using a 3rd party app Speccy I can see that it shows 64GB was installed, but for some reason, it's not being recognized properly. Please let me know if there is an easy way to fix this.

Thanks for the suggestions. Using F12, both slots/banks were recognizing the RAM, but it was at 16GB each. Not sure why, but I decided to do some swapping around to see if anything worked. I checked each stick of RAM individually and they both seemed to work at a full 32GB. I then tried each stick in the second spot/bank and they both again worked at a full 32GB. I randomly chose one stick of RAM, installed it into the first bank then restarted my computer to check it was working at 32GB. Next, I shut down and installed the second stick into the second spot, and restarted. This time, I received a message that the amount of RAM has changed before booting up, and now it's 64GB. No idea what happened, but it's working now.

It would be a BIOS issue if it incorrectly report amount of RAM. What did your BIOS say?
Please let me know if there is an easy way to fix this.
We need to determine the cause before accurately providing a fix. Can you provide screenshots showing amount of RAM information from (1) BIOS, (2) Speccy, and (3) OS (Windows).

The image from your BIOS is not visible but I see the issue. One of your RAM stick has issue, although it display 64GB of RAM, Speccy only saw 32GB in total physical memory. Assume they are identical set, you can identify which stick of RAM not recognized by going to Diagnostics via F12, tap Esc key twice to stop the test, select Advance then Configuration tab, see which bank recognizing the RAM. Reseat and/or swap slots may help BIOS to see them. Issue with RAM can also be identified by running a memory diagnostics test.
If all else fails, run a system RTC reset.

I am glad that you are able to get all 64gb to show up by reseat and swapping slots. You can mark the thread solved as it will help other members in their upgrade path.
