DELL 5530 Touchpad
Please help! I need to disable the touchpad on my DELL 5530 Precision because I am using a USB mouse to navigate and the palm of my hand touching the pad causes unwanted effects. I cannot find any reference to the touchpad anywhere in the firmware or OS settings. I am using Windows11.
Thank you.

Thank you for your prompt response.
I have exhausted all possible solutions from DELL and the Internet and found no solution. Event a Bios update to the latest (a few days old) version did not address the problem. The Touchpad is not even mentioned in the Bios.
It seems that the only solution for me would be to open the 5530 Precision Laptop and physically disconnect the Touchpad. This Laptop was released three years ago and no software Enable/Disable switch can be found anywhere. This is a pity because I now have to place a physical barrier between my palm and the Touchpad to prevent the Touchpad from interfering with the mouse position.
Best regards,

Once again thanks for your prompt response. All your suggestions have been executed with negative results. Even your last suggestion: "If nothing works, then you can disable the touchpad from the Device Manager.... etc.", did not produce a positive result, even after re-booting. I'm sure this concludes our attempt to disable the Touchpad via software. Physically unplugging it is now the only option left.
Kind regards,
Seismo

You are already doing a fantastic job with your prompt responses. Due to the fact that you cannot always duplicate the exact conditions of all queries, I cannot suggest any way that you can do better on what you are already doing. Keep up the good work.
Best regards,

Windows 11: Settings/Bluetooth & Devices/Touchpad You can turn the Touchpad on/off. You can also set it to be disabled when a mouse is plugged in.
