Can I use an SSD in the SSD slot of my Precision 7710 and completely remove the SATA HDD?
I have a Precision 7710 with a sluggish HDD (that seems to be going out) in the SATA slot. I purchased a Dell SSD 512GB Class 40 M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 3.0 Gen 3x4. Can i simply remove the HDD and not use the slot at all and instead use the SSD in the SSD slot (I think it is slot 3 based on a YouTube video I saw)?

Yes, you can. Using M.2 solid state drive for boot drive will significantly improve the performance. You can also choose to leave the HDD as a storage, your choice.

I see Crucial has a 2.5 SSD drive (7mm - with a 9.5mm adapter) that fits in place of the HDD. Anyone have any experience with these or are there better options out there I should look into? Wondering maybe replace the HDD and use my SSD for storage/backup?

I'm scoping out the m18 R2 Gaming Laptop. I have gone through the customize options and built a robust laptop. However, I only see options of adding hard drive storage...there is no mention of what the computer would come with if I opted not to get hard drives added. Surely the computer comes with an internal drive for OS, right?
