4 WEEKS Delay In Service...Everyday is a promised service day
I got a Precision 5560, and it came with battery issue. First time I got it fixed, two services were scheduled cuz the battery issue was not be aware of at the first time. But the computer got fixed soon, it was acceptable, I was happy with the result.
One month later, same problem appeared, and the 4-week-delay-in-service-(still-ongoing) drama came. I kept asking for explanations for the unacceptable delay, and why they are sending scheduling information everyday, but not reachable (I tried to call the tech but always direct to voicemail), and not showing up. No answers, dell support kept asking me to WAIT again and again. Here is the tedious and ridiculous timeline:
The service request was placed on 08/09, on 08/11 I got a call (and the only call) from the tech, to schedule the same day service. But he realized the parts hadn't arrived yet, so he said he will get back to me the following day, when it's anticipated that the parts will be ready.
On 8/12, two dell packages delivered to me, not to the tech.
On 8/13 I informed dell support via WhatsApp about the packages. They said okay, “the engineer is scheduled for today”. But Nobody showed up.
On 8/14, I informed dell support via EMAIL about the packages, because I found a email saying “If you need further assistance or you have any further queries about this case, please make sure to reply to my e-mail so you won't have to spend extra time dealing with other Dell representatives .”
On 8/15 and 8/17, I received email about the tech will come today for service (with Unisys). Nobody showed up. I tried to call/text/and leave voicemail to the tech assigned based on the email, and there were no responses.
On 8/17 I contacted dell support via email, indicating the issue “I understand there could be delay in service, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give me a valid appointment time, instead of scheduling the appointment every day and not showing up. “
Guess I was not patient enough huh? So I silently waited for couple of days after that conversation. I am not receiving emails with the specific tech’s contact info anymore, but I am still receiving daily email saying I have an upcoming service scheduled for today. EVERYDAY. No one called/came. Pretty sure I didn’t miss any potential calls from them, picked up all the calls in these days, even all the spams.
So waiting silently is not working, I started to contact dell support again.
On 8/29, via WhatsApp, and was informed that I can expect ppl contact me within 24 hours.
On 8/30, via email. Repeating same words.
On 9/01 and 9/02 (yes, it comes to September now), they say they are sending emails to the provider AGAIN, and ask me to wait AGAIN.
Today, 9/06, 4-week anniversary. Again, received email about the appointment is scheduled for today, I called/texted, the tech is not replying. I am writing this to commemorate this tough relationship. It is still just me, and my not-working-failure-twice-new laptop, staying at home like the worst home decoration you can ever have.
Hey dell,
Still got your things here (the new motherboard and battery for replacement).
And they stare at me like souvenirs.
Thank you for reading to the end, and yes, I am still waiting. After all, everyday is a promised service day.
Don’t get me wrong, this is not fun and I am very upset.

Update: A tech came and fixed my computer really quick today. He is not the same person that was assigned to my appointment over and over again. I appreciate how fast and well this problem is resolved after I posted on this platform.

I'm going through the exact issue right now. It's been a full week since I was scheduled for an onsite technician to work on my computer. I'm getting nervous it's going to turn into the same month long fight that you endured. I just keep getting a phone call from a different number each day asking if I can reschedule my appointment for tomorrow. Then tomorrow comes, the tech never arrives, and I am asked to reschedule again.
I have been fighting all summer through Dells online text assist to even get a technician scheduled to come look at my computer. Everyone is scared to touch my computers motherboard in fear of messing up my warranty, so this is my only option. I have ProSupport plus and it's supposed to provide "same day or next business day service." I'm getting really frustrated because I need this computer for the upcoming school semester and I can afford to just buy a new computer.
If you have any tips on how you managed to get your technician to finally arrive, I'm all ears. Because I really can't wait a full month for someone to help me like you did.
