Tesla T4 in Precision T7600?
hi, I have tried using a Tesla T4 in a Precision T7600 but have run into some sporadic issues, the worst is a hung boot with the card getting extremely hot. Is the Tesla T4 compatible with the T7600? I haven't been able to find T7600 in any compatibility lists.

The Tesla T4 is a passive cooling card, meant for servers ( that have quite a lot of active cooling with a wind tunnel effect ).
It can be used in a workstation / normal computer but requires a cooling solution rigged to it, otherwise it will simply die due to the excessive heat .
https://www.ebay.com/itm/313400264825 , this one is just an example of such product made to use the card NOT in a server. You need one of these, and hope you didn't already damage the card

Precision T7600 Spec Sheet has a list of compatible GPU's. Just giving you other ideas.
As for the Tesla t4, is it new, refurb, or used? It may be defective.

Thanks Brad, I see Tesla K20C there, which is promising. The card was bought used, and I tested it in another PC before trying it in the T7600, it checked out fine. After the overheating, I tried it again in the test system and it is still recognized and apparently functional, so I don't think it's the T4 itself.

The other pc maybe has a better internal airflow (and maybe wasn't even put under stress but just tested for operation), but it doesn't change the fact that without installing a fan to cool down the T4 , the situation is like taking any GPU (for games) that operates normally with a fan , remove it, and hope that all goes well.
There's a reason a GPU that runs hot, has fans. And there's a reason a T4 (and the similar cards) have not ( because the server itself is designed to supply the required cooling ).

Something I didn't make clear before is I'm still with @mazzinia with trying the cooling fan as one way to troubleshoot.

I like @mazzinia's cooling solution. However, with the overheating problem in one PC and not the other makes me think the PSU might have an overvoltage problem. But since a 70w card doesn't require any extra connectors, I would think the MB be affected also.
2 ideas - Get a PSU tester. Amazon is just one place that has them. Take the PC and the card to a computer shop to diagnose.
If you do the latter, please let us know what the computer shop came up with.

Definitely will try the cooling fan, first in my test PC and with some stress tests. Then, in the T7600 and see if we can get a successful boot. I put in the order today (eBay). Also I should note that I have only the single 1300W power supply (I believe there's an option for dual PSUs). And have put the card in the CPU 2 PCI slot at the very top, which is marked for 75W power or less.
