T5820 does not recognize Ultra-Speed Drive Quad NVMe

Hi, I come from this thread> https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/precision-fixed-workstations/installation-windows-11-pro-for-worstations-t5820/65641286e32a461d3eef4c03

The problem I have is that when I run the windows 11 installer does not recognize any of the 4 nvme m.2 drives on the DELL ultra-speed Quad card, more if it does with the SSD SATA Can anyone give me lights of what is happening here and what I can do to fix it?

I changed from AHCI to RAID and nothing happened, they are only visible when the BIOS is in Legacy mode, but it is not what I want, what I want is to be able to use UEFI BIOS to install Windows 11 and in the future version 12.

Thank you very much.

The users with these enterprise, business class systems are often having more knowledge than average with hardware components and software settings environments.  So, while pointing to specific direction, I tried not to bore them with a very basic, step by step instructions.  Detailed information can be follow when specific question is asked.

During OS installation, Windows operating system can not see the storages connected behind a RAID controller.  Therefore, the VROC, an equivalent of F6 driver is needed during the installation process.  While it seems complicated, it's a simple process with just a few clicks.  Often, Dell provides all-in-one driver package with compatible drivers for Win 7, Win 8, and so on.  There are both of RAID and AHCI drivers in the package.  For your inquiry, usually, selecting the iaStorE for win8 64-bit should work, it then will show the VMD RAID controller with connected drives.

About the efficiency and performance, the operating system and applications, Adobe software in your case, can be loaded with medium performance storage such as SATA SSD.  They are not much faster when you loaded with NVMe drive in comparison.  The fastest performance from NVMe can be used for scratch drive, to load working projects and often usages of files transfers.  They can also be used for games installations to reduce loading times.  For long term storages, the high capacity and affordable spinning drives would be feasible choice.

You can download this VROC driver to a FAT32 formatted USB drive.  Plug it into the 5820 together with the Windows installation media.  When the installation process gets to the selection of destination location to install Windows, select to load driver and pointing to the VROC driver.  The NVMe drives on your Ultra-Speed card will become visible.

Hi, to update the information, I read that I had to extract the folders inside the .exe file and finally the installer could find the drives (although I had to uncheck the compatible drivers box for the installer to recognize them), when I proceeded to continue I was prompted with the following>
"It is not possible to create a new partition or find an existing one. If you want more information you can see the log files of the installation program".

I never found where to see that installation log.

I'm already losing hope in this task. Will using a SATA SSD for the software not affect my work with Adobe software too much, while keeping my photo files on the nvme?
