T5600 bios issue
hi, i was recently given a sorry looking but working T5600, its no longer a biohazard and i have memory a 2.5gb NIC and a new GPU ready for it.
Although the system boots to win 10 fine, I cannot for the life of me get into the BIOS (A19), I have tried hitting F12, selecting BIOS setup to no avail, i tried going in by F2 and it just goes to a black screen.
diagnostics reports all well
I've changed the CR2032 battery, pulled the boot drive - this at least got me a no boot device but again black screen when entering BIOS.
I've searched the internoodle but nothing suggested works.
any ideas?

got a r7 250 out of the loft and it worked.
thanks for all you help :)

To rule out the display issue, try with an old school VGA connection.

Try a BIOS reset via the jumper on the MB.

@bradthetechnut No change, swapped GPU for known good, pulled all ram out, changed BIOS battery, disconnected everything apart from 1 cpu and 1 stick of ram, all the same, still boots to windows but i cant even get into the bios through the advanced startup

Are you pressing F12 or F2 repeatedly and immediately upon powering on? You said repeatedly though.
If still no luck, it may be that BIOS doesn't have a graphics driver for the GPU. That I don't know how to solve except to try an older graphics card as the T5600 was introduced in 2012.

Guessing that flash the BIOS again would be the next troubleshooting step.

Might not be what you're looking for, but a Dell tested GPU should show BIOS.
