T3610 BIOS upgrade: Can you skip a bunch or do they all have to be installed sequentially?

I have a T3610 Precision Workstation running Win 7 Pro that I bought new in 2014 and I have never updated the BIOS.  It is at revision A03.  The latest revision from the Dell Support page is A019.  Can I update directly from A03 to A019?

The reason why I ask is that I read somewhere that if it is more than 2 revisions out of date it is recommended to install each update in order without skipping.  That would be a lot of updating.

Latitudes, as an example. especially are recommended to go no more that 2 or 3 at a time. Considering how old your version is, I would not recommend jumping all the way to the newest revision. I would say no more than 3 versions ahead at a time, in other words 03 to 06, etc. And possibly when you get to the newer critical versions starting at A12 then one at a time.

You can run them after each other.

@Chino de Oro is spot on. After certain updates the system cannot be downgraded to a prior version on some of the updates. In other words you may see unexpected results after an upgrade.

Now that we have answered your initial question keep this in mind. In general if the system is working well then there is no reason to start updating the BIOS. If you are having a specific problem that an update may address then it is worth updating. The forum is full of posts from users that were trying to update their BIOS and something unexpected happened with the results that the system was bricked. So proceed with caution and be certain that the update is a necessity.

OK, super, thanks for the info.

However, your answer spurs another question.  Can I update them one after another right in a row, or do I need to use the computer for a while with each upgrade before proceeding to the next?

If your machine is performing well, taking into consideration if any version of BIOS update may affect your machine as you reach a certain BIOS version, the machine will no longer be allow to downgrade.

I am sorry, but I do not understand this.  Could you share some more about what you are thinking?  Thanks.
