Refurbed Precision 5810 won't boot
I have a refurbed Precision 5810 and cannot now get it to boot.
I get the Dell logo with "Analysing your PC"; then "Repairing" and landing me at "Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC". There is reference to J:\recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt
No matter what repair options or troubleshooting I try, no luck. I've been to Microsoft and created a bootable USB drive, formatted to exFAT, to re-install Windows 10, but this doesn't work either as during the Windows install I have to choose the Custom option but can't select a drive to install window on to.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

I've used a Lacie external hard drive that I had spare. Reformatted to exFAT on a Mac. Hooked up to a laptop to download/create windows installation drive from Microsofts website.

Can you detail your setup ? Are you using a nvme drive or a sata ?

Fair point. can you check with F2 when the dell logo shows, to see the settings in the bios ?
You should be also able to see the storage ( under sata and under video, I think )
EDIT
you can take pictures and post them here. Alternatively you could also remove the side panel and post a picture of the inside

If nvme , check this

This is sounding complicated! There looks to be 4 500Gb drives installed and I bet each are partitioned to some degree so wouldn't know where to start. I guess the old days of >Format C: *.* have long gone etc!!

I download the OS Recovery Tool onto a Windows 10 laptop and created an Operating System Recover Image for the 5810 on an external drive. I've followed the instructions to boot up the 5810 with the external drive. Opened a One-time boot menu via F12. I could only select the USB drive under the Legacy menu not the UEFI boot. Followed the rest of the instruction to Custom install but can't select any drive to install to. Drive 0 says it's GPT and the other drives 1 - 5 give an error code 0x80300024.
Not now got a clue what to do!

Was in raid mode previously ? That error means that the hdd needs to be reformatted/repartitioned

yes, unchecking them should disable the 3 sata ports on the motherboard

well makes me think it was set in Raid mode ( not ahci ) and the 4 disks were configured accordingly before it got corrupted.
Do one thing... either disable disk 1 2 3 in the bios , or unplug the sata cable from 1 2 3 and try to install with just hdd0
