Dell Precision 7820 GPU Size
I know a double slot card will fit in this machine. But would there be any issue with a 2.5 or tipple slot card going in here? Other then loosing access to some of the connectors from the card covering them up.

There is no issue with using larger than double slot cards. The 7820 was validated to be used with dual double slot cards. Just need to concern about the length and the height for chassis fitments.

@Chino de Oro This is the card in question.
Evga GeForce RTX 2080 TI FTW3 Ultra (11G-P4-2487-KR)
That’s why I wanted to ask. Cause it’s a pretty big card.

According to EVGA site, that specific card has the following dimensions:
The height of 5.48" is an issue. The stabilizer bar on your 7820 side panel may need to be knocked out for the panel to close properly
For some reason, the measurement specs kept disappeared after posting. Attached a picture instead.

@Chino de Oro Appoligizes for such a late response. Especially on something marked with a right answer. But when you say stabilizer bar. Are you referring to the black piece that screws into the door. Or are you referring to the metal piece that’s made into the door that the black piece screws to.

For oversize cards, removing the black stabilizer bar first. If necessary, drill out the rivets and remove the metal frame.
