Best Dell Precision Workstation for gaming?

Hello,

I am looking to put together a cheap gaming rig - and it seems getting a used workstation and upgrading it is the cheapest way to do so.

I already own a GTX 1660 Super so the PC would have to be able to handle that.

I've previously owned a T3500, which was good for a few years, but failed recently soon after installing the 1660 super.

The T5500 looks good as it has a bigger PSU so reduced risk of frying it with the GPU. Are there any other similar options? I've heard a lot about optiplex but the smaller form factor is off-putting since my GPU is a triple-fan.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

The guy hasn't responded, but in the meantime, I found this which seems like a good deal too. It's a T5810 with 32 gigs of DDR4, comes with a 675w PSU, and definitely has space for an 11-inch GPU. CPU seems good too, although looks like it may run hot as its 140w. Other benefits: Pcie 3.0 and Sata 3

Would you say this is a good option for £150?

Definitely yes, is a good offer ( you can also lowball , since he is open to a slightly lower offer ), and it's newer than the one I found ( and whose seller is not answering ).

Go for it

My budget would be around £100 - given I already own the GPU.

Thanks for the response

You never know, I think should have more space than a 3500. Good luck with the checking

This has some serious bang-for-buck, but not sure if it would have clearance for the GPU. Coincidentally it is in the same town as me so I could drive round and check it out. Thanks a lot!
