Proper procedure of "Expanding the Disk Group" for ME5024
Hi~all,
We're using the PE 5024 SAN storage with 18 * 2.4TB HDD installed, we placed order for additional 6 * 2.4TB HDD and we'd like to expand the volume. (our SAN storage is used for the VM datastore purpose)
May I confirm the following 2 sequence step is correct ?

Hi,
Yes, the procedure you described is correct. You first need to expand the existing disk group by adding the six new 2.4 TB drives. Once the restriping process begins and the additional capacity is available in the pool, you can expand the volume. After that, remember to increase the datastore size on the VMware side as well.
