MD3220 and two 1220 shelves (SAS) - Windows 2012 R2 multipathing software??
Is there any supported multipathing software/drivers for Windows 2012 R2 and an MD3220? I don't see any software on the support site.
If not, what is the recommended route of connecting up 4 R620's? This is a direct-attached SAS setup. Am I using the native MPIO feature within Windows?

Let the ISO/DVD autorun and install at least the host software. This installs the minimum requirement for hosts that will be connected to an MD3k SAN (agent, MPIO software, etc). If you also want the management GUI, you can opt to install that as well. Note that the host software will require a reboot of the physical server at the end.

Hello tradsd,
Here is a link to our deployment guide for the MD3220. ftp.dell.com/.../powervault-md3200_Deployment%20Guide_en-us.pdf In the guide it shows you how to connect up the MD3220 to 4 servers. Also in the deployment guide it helps you get MDSM (Modular Disk Storage Manger) installed as Dev Mgr has suggested.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Download the latest resource DVD. This has full support for Windows 2012 R2 with MPIO for the MD3k-series.

You can see the OS compatibility under the compatibility section. I'd suggest to also verify that the raid controller firmware is up to date as only since December or so did the firmware version list support for 2012 R2. You can do the firmware update with the management software that is on the resource DVD.

Thanks for the response. I've downloaded the .iso. I see only one folder (lsi_sas_9300_8e) under Windows that specifies Windows 2012 R2. I'm wondering if you could provide a bit more detail. My experience mainly revolves around SAN storage as opposed to the direct-attached setups. I plan on configuring these servers and the MD3220 this week. I plan to create the disk pool and virtual disk and host group, etc. This is all SAS. How does the multipath driver come into play? Typically, on our other servers we'll install NetApp's or HP EVA's MPIO software and I'm good. I don't see an executable that i can run and install. Does the folder I indicated contain what I need for an MD3220, R620's with 2012 R2, two 1220 shelves to multipath using Dell drivers? Can you provide a little bit more detail?
