Initial Configuration for PowerVault ME5012 2U Controller Enclosure
I accidentally powered on the enclosure after connecting the power cables. I did not connect the enclosure to the management network and also did not establish SAS cabling to the host server. Would this affect the initial configuration of the storage system? If yes, how do I power off the enclosure to establish proper connection first?

31.9 Terabyte are 29.1TiB.
We only use ESXi together with ME5 so i cant help with your Linux problems. Which Distro are you using and how is going if you follow the documentation?

Just let it on otherwise hook up the serial and shut the unit down from the cli. I cant say how the cli behavied when the unit setup isnt finished :/
Its not needed needed to connect the hosts in this stage! We connect the SAS Hosts one ofter the other after we finished the setup wizard or at least only the first is connected.

Joerg

@Origin3k
Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I hooked up the serial and was able to access the GUI of setup via 10.0.0.2
I need help on mounting the volume in my host server. I created a RAID6 volume of 31.9T. However, lsblk only shows 29.1T on /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc for dual path. When I try to mkfs.xfs on /dev/mapper/mpathb, it shows error "error reading existing superblock". When I setting up multipath on host server, I got this message "mpathb: sdb - tur checker reports path is down"

I realized I need to map the ports I am using on my host server for my attached volume. After following the documentation, I successfully mounted the volume for use. Thanks.
