Adding 2 ME424 Expansion enclosure to a ME4024 which already has one ME424

Hi

we have one ME4024 which already has one expansion enclosure ME424. Now we need to add 2 extra ME424 Expansion to have total 3 expansion enclosure. I have these questions:

1- shall I use reverse cabling method ? as the current cabling in normal one

2- or I could use normal cabling ?

3- when I add 2 more expansion enclosure, is there and  treat to my old date after turn on system again ?

4- what is power on sequence after adding 2 expansions ? which one shall I turn on first ? ME4024 on ME424's ?

thank you in advance to help me

Hello Zigoratuae,

I hope this answers the questions you have:

1.I recommend follow the cabling in the manual

Cable requirements for expansion enclosures

2.answered on 1

3.if cabling is done correctly and #4, below, is followed, data will be fine

Make sure system is running latest FW on controllers and HDDs before adding

4.Process:

Turn off head unit

Once off,

cable in new enclosures according to documentation in Deployment Guide

Turn on all ME424s

Wait until they are optimal

Then turn on head unit

Links are working, what issue you are facing on them?

Can you try another browser?

Thanks

I opened them but reply to my question not there,

I have already connected the first ME424 with dircet cabling I could say, means Cascade, now I want to add 2 more ME424.

Shall I proceed with cascade again ? Or reversed?

If I go for reversed cabling, then the old ME424 cabling must be changed, and reconnect it with 2 others new ME424 woth cascade.

Then is it cause to face any problem? Does ME4024 recognize the old and 2 new ME424 and keep the old setting?
