Sync error when adding new PowerStore 500T to an existing cluster

Hello team, any idea about this alert? running system is at 4.0.1.0 and new appliance at 4.0.0.1.

Is this KB applicable or better if I check with the support?

PowerStore: Unable to add new appliance to an existing cluster because the synchronize OS operation fails | Dell US

I believe you have to run it before you can get Powerstore manager to allow you to upgrade. But you could try.

a. In PowerStore Manager, go to Settings > Upgrades.
b. Under Software Packages, select More Actions > Upload Package.

is this process of deploying the new appliance as a standalone appliance, then do the ICW, then upgrade OS, then reinitialize system applied on any new appliance addition? sure the OS version of the new appliance and the running one is different, so same error will occur. Any way to check the OS version of the new appliance without doing the ICW, so we avoid going through this long process?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

Yes, that is the process. Can you upgrade both the existing cluster and the new appliance to the latest version so that they match?

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
