PowerPath Not Working

I have an older FC4700-2 that has been retired that we decide to use. I have built a Dell 2650 with dual Emulex LightPulse LP9802 HBA's. I have given the storage group 4 Luns and I am seeing 8 at the server because of the dual path. I have a licensed copy of Powerpath installed but when you go into the Power path administrator I am not seeing any storage arrays, disks, or adapters. It does not working at all. I have tried multiple versions of power path but pretty much the same thing happens with all tried versions. Any ideas?

Thanks
Michael

are you using navi agent on the host or did you manually register host under connectivity status ?

It has been so long, I did forget about that. Which fail over mode? 0, 1, 2?

I have it to clarion open, 1, enabled and I am now seen the adapters and disk. With 2 hba's in the servers, 2 fiber switches what mode should it be 0,1,2? At 0 I get errors on all adapters in powerpath, mode 1 power path looks to be fine but I'm seeing 16 disks in device manager.

What version of Powerpath are you using? I had to use 4.5.1 because 4.6 didn't work. It wouldn't see any HBAs or anything. Maybe that could be it. After back reving, it all showed up.

In device manager I am seeing 16 drives but in disk administrator I am seeing the 4 assigned drives. I assume that it is now working correctly.

Just an FYI... you may or may not still run into trouble with PP 4.5x. EMC dropped support for the FC4700 in v4.5 We were forced to stay at a lower rev until we migrated everything off the old arrays and decommitted them.

If it works for you great, but beware...

I was playing with the failover modes and the hardware and drives showed up in Power Path. Thanks for your help.

PS: I am running power path 4.4.1
