Degraded paths suddenly appearing

Hi, I have a new CX3-40 array and on one of my servers (a relatively new one) it is showing paths degrading.

None of my other servers are having problems, and the array is fine, but Powerpath is showing a lot of paths degraded.

Any thoughts?

Do you see double LUN's ? When a Windows machine reboots it happens (a lot) that the disk id changes, so PPath picks this up as a dead path on 1 HBA and if the other path is still ok, as a degraded LUN. If a LUN can be seen double on an HBA, remove the dead one.

don't really have enough information from you regarding the problem. might be a good idea to check you hba, cable, and switch port. make sure you are getting event id 128's those would indicate connectivity issues.

Apparently even though the Clariion was persistently bound in Sansurfer, Windows still saw it as a different path after reboot.

I reinstalled PP and its fine now.

You said "Windows still saw it as a different path after reboot."
Sounds Like you may have had a file called powermt.custom with old info in it
All you needed to do was delete the file and reboot.....and do not issue a powermt save.
