Win2012 installation problems on PE610

I have a PE610 (ST: ) with a basic 4x300GB SAS RAID10 hardware setup, 72GB RAM and trying to install windows server 2012 using the Dell OpenManage System Management Tools and Documents CD but the installation fails after the Dell OMSMTD cd installs drivers. The first message I get after the installation and reboot is : "The Temporary Partition will be removed..."

The 2nd error I get is "The file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or corrupt. Setup cannot continue..."

I have tried several different versions of the Dell OMSMTD cd as I do not have the original CD but to no avail.

Can someone give me a link for the correct Dell OMSMTD cd for this server?

Hello

The first message I get after the installation and reboot is : "The Temporary Partition will be removed..."

That is not an error. That is an informational pop-up letting you know that the RAM drive containing the preloaded drivers for OS install will be removed. It is a temporary drive that will be removed after a certain amount of time(around 18 hours) or if the RAM is cleared by power drain or restart.

I have tried several different versions of the Dell OMSMTD cd as I do not have the original CD but to no avail.

That is not an SMTD error. That is an error with your OS installation media. I suggest using different OS installation media.

Thanks

Thank you. Yes, that was the problem. Bad installation media.
