USB ports stop working Server 2008R2 after patch Tuesday.
After this last patch Tuesday my USB ports have stopped working when I get to the login screen. The ports themselves work fine in bios mode. Any ideas on how I can access the o/s to rollback the driver? Keep mind my mouse and keyboard are usb and I have no ps/2 ports on the T410. Nor, can I get in via RDC.
Thanks, Dave

I could not get F8 to work. The normal F2, F10, F11 all worked fine. However, trying two different restore disc's I was finally able to get in via RDC. After I uninstalled all of the March 15th MS updates the USB ports worked fine. I haven't bothered to figure which update is was the killed the usb, when I get the time next I'll do that.
Thanks for the response though, I greatly appreciate the info.

"my USB ports have stopped working when I get to the login screen."
But before that you have keyboard? If so you need to get to the recovery options, F8, "last known good" will roll you back, getting to it is a bit harder then old server versions.

I find the system repair sometimes needs to run a few times before a repair works, even when the system states a repair has not worked.
Not sure what is going on with Microsoft but lately the updates are causing a lot of damage. Up until just a year ago it was very rare for them to cause any major issues. If you do reinstall the updates, do it one at a time.
