add new HDD into existing Perch H330 controler

hiii all, i have a question and also problem.

i have Poweredge R430, with idrac 8. i already install 4 TB SSD ( detect as virtual disk 0 ( raid 0 ) in the server and also install proxmox in it, the system is running well right now. i want to add two hdd ( 2 TB each ), i want to add that two hdd ( configure as raid 1) using idrac without shutdown my server. the new hdd is detect as foreign, my planning is making a new virtual disk from that two hdd so i can have another 2 TB disk. can anybody help me how to making that posiblle.

Hello,

in order to create a new volume RAID1, if the PERC controller detect a foreign configuration in the new hard drives, you have first to clear foreign configuration. I'm not sure if you can perform this operation from the iDRAC interface, if so you have the option under storage section of the idrac. If not then you have to do it from the PERC bios interface.

Thanks

Please note that clearing foreign configuration will clear all data on the drives. If you need data from the virtual disk you can import the foreign configuration.

Clearing foreign configuration will clear the data for all drives which is shown as foreign in Physical Disks page. Your existing 4TB disk will be in online state and data on those drives will not be cleared by clearing foreign configuration.
