Samsung SSD 870 EVO not recognized in R650

Question

Hello!

I have a box R650 with a PERC H755N Front (Embedded) controller and SATA NVMe disks.

I need to extend it by 2 Samsung SSD 870 EVO disks. Unfortunately, when I put them into the slots, I only get the following error:

"Invalid drive type detected in bay 1, slot 6."

Is there any way to make such configuration working?

The Undefined,     The issue you're seeing is due to the drives not being compatible with the server, as they are meant more for desktops and laptops, as seen here.   So I would start with another drive and see if the issue persists, you can see some supported drives here.    Let me know if this helps.

The H755N is the PERC for NVMe drives... do you have an U.2 Backplane only or is it one with combined SAS(Sata?) slots as well?

Your Samsung 870 is a SATA based SSD and not one with U.2!!!
