Replacing an iDrac card. Exporting all settings?
Hi,
The bracket that holds the iDrac in place on my R430 server has apparently broken. The tech isn't sure if they can replace just the bracket or if they have to order and replace the whole card. In the event that they have to replace the whole iDrac card, does that mean I have to reset all the settings in there? IP, SNMP string, alerting, etc?
If so, is there a way to export the entire iDrac settings information and import it onto the new one if it gets replaced?
Thanks.

Yes you can export the Settings (and different secions like BIOS,RAID and so on) and IIRC there was also a question if you would use it for a clone(transfer it to another system with different IP and so on) or as a 100% restore.
Long time ago we use this feature together with the scheduling option and store our iDRAC backups on a regulary basis and store them on the iDRAC SD card.

So, those instructions end me up at this screen.
Why isn't there a simple Download button where I can save it to the C Drive of the machine I'm accessing the iDrac from? I have to manually fill out all kinds of server info?
And how do I even fill this out? Everything I fill in just says:
RAC0618: Incorrect data entered. Make sure to enter the correct data and retry the operation.

Well, after manually sharing out a folder on the server I'm on, and then using that IP and share name, I finally got it to tell me that it was working, but then I go to the Job Queue and there's nothing in there so it seems like it doesn't actually work.

The process found here, which uses a USB, will likely be an easier path for you.
Let me know if this helps.

@DELL-Chris H This is for a server in a remote data center so I don't have any way of using a USB drive.
I was hoping to just go into the iDrac or OMSA, go to a Backup screen, click Download Backup, and tell it to save it in my Documents folder. I guess it can't do it that way?
