Forgot Password Dell's IDRAC Password.

Dear Dell Team Support.

I have IDRAC but forgot the password.

Is it possible to change the password without reset IDRAC Network Configuration for remote access?

I worry if I change the IDRAC Password from Dell's BIOS effect to IDRAC's Network Configuration.

Thank you.

Regards,

Samuel.

Samuel78,

The first thing I would do is see if the default still works, the default username and password are root and calvin. I would start there, and if that doesn't work then (depending on server model) you can boot to the BIOS (F2) - iDrac Settings- User Configuration.

Let me know if this helps.

If you have access to the OS and root/administrator rights you can reset the "root" password of the iDRAC within 20sec. without a reboot or other kind of downtime.

Install iDRAC tools or simple copy the racadm.exe and the one *.dll from another system and than open a shell as root/administrator and type in:

racadm set iDRAC.Users.2.Password NewPassword123

A iDRAC support up to 16 local users and the slot for the "root" is always within slot 2.

The racadm also exists for vSphere ESXi.

Joerg
