FC630 Blade will not power on after being removed
I removed a FC630 Blade from the FX2S chassis to reseat the DIMM that was showing as bad. I powered off the Blade and removed it from the chassis. I reseated one RAM DIMM. I then reinstalled the FC630 Blade back into the chassis and the green light on the power button is not lite. I pressed the power button and nothing happens. I cannot access the iDrac for the Blade, but I could before I powered the blade off. I cannot access the chassis CMC by IP Address or the serial port. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I remove the CMC while the chassis is powered without causing any interruptions to the other Blade server in the Chassis?

Hello,
Start by reseating the CMC module, which won’t disrupt other blades and may restore management access. If that doesn’t work, try accessing the CMC via the serial port using a terminal emulator (e.g., PuTTY) with the correct settings: 115200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. If you regain access, check the blade’s status and logs via the CMC for any clues.
If the CMC remains inaccessible, power down the chassis to safely inspect the FC630 blade. Recheck the DIMM you reseated to ensure it’s properly seated and undamaged. If the issue persists, reduce the blade to a minimal POST configuration (one CPU, one DIMM, no extra cards or drives) to isolate the problem.
If the blade still fails to power on, the motherboard may be faulty.
Hope that helps!
