Trying to install a new video card in our 7010
I hope this can be answered at this late date. We're trying to upgrade the graphics on this 7010 mini tower with a GV-N610-2GI Gigabyte GeForce GT610 that is from the same era as the PC. When I inserted the card in the PCI slot the BIOS should have detected it when I went in to troubleshoot no video on the monitors but the list of detected video cards was blank. Nor could I find a way to force the BIOS to ignore the integrated video and, hopefully, start using the GeForce card. The only way I could get in to see what was going on was to use the integrated graphics even while the new card was inserted.
What we're trying to do is create an extended desktop across two monitors but I wasn't sure the integrated video would do this, and did not have a splitter cable for the RGB out on the PC but the GeForce card has multiple connectors for 3 video sources.
Was this model of motherboard particularly picky about what video cards it would use?
Thanks.

Thank you for this information! I don't think it was covered in the manual for this model and, besides, I've never used DP cables on, pretty much anything. I've always thought along the lines of the standard video out ports. If this model PC will do what our receptionist is asking then I'll happily forget the GeForce card and work with what came on the PC.

this is an end of life old Dell 7010. It has two DP video ports at rear and can support multiple monitors in extended mode via integrated graphics of Intel 3rd gen cpu. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTO_NvJCTEu5fJG114YvIVUo06wsbDClvaEOQ&s
to install and run discrete video card, try replace cmos battery with a new one then clear cmos settings via motherboard jumper. it should then auto detect discrete card and preferentially send video to the card.
