I can't figure out what's wrong. Hope you can help - thanks in advance

Hi

Please can you confirm the Make Model and OS, along with any configuration details like touch screen, backlit keyboard, SFF or tower etc etc.

OptiPlex 7060 Micro

OptiPlex 7060  SFF

OptiPlex 7060 Tower

The Micro, SFF and Tower all have an Ethernet Port, can you use that?

What is the actual problem/need for OS recovery?

Steps to Download and Create Dell OS Recovery Media

  1. Download the Dell OS Recovery Tool:

    • Go to Dell’s official website and download the latest Dell OS Recovery Tool (requires Windows 10 or 11 with .NET Framework 4.8 or newer).

  2. Install and Run the Recovery Tool:

    • Install and launch the tool on a working Windows PC.

  3. Enter Your Service Tag:

    • When prompted, enter the unique service tag of your Dell Optiplex 7060 (usually found on a sticker on your PC), or let the tool auto-detect it.

  4. Select Your Recovery Image:

    • The tool will display available system recovery images tailored for your specific system. Select the appropriate image.

  5. Insert a USB Drive:

    • Insert a USB drive with at least 16GB capacity. The tool will prompt you to select this drive—the contents will be erased.

  6. Download and Create the USB Recovery Media:

    • The tool will download the image (typically 5–16 GB) and create a bootable recovery USB. This process may take some time depending on your internet speed.

  7. Use the USB Recovery Drive:

    • Once complete, insert the USB into the Optiplex 7060, boot from USB, and follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows.

Important Notes

  • The Dell OS Recovery Tool works only on Windows computers. If you need a recovery image and don’t have a Windows PC available, Dell support may be able to assist.

  • For advanced users: You can opt to download the ISO file instead of immediate USB creation (useful if you want to create the USB with another tool).

  • If the recovery image is not available for your service tag, contact Dell Technical Support with your service tag number.

This method ensures you get the official Dell recovery image, which includes all factory drivers and software for your Optiplex 7060.

@anne_droid Thanks (also google). I am on optiplex 7060, win 11 pro. I went through all steps making image on 64gb usb, as instructed. At step F12, asking for a "reset", I was answered: .....no networkadapter....

I have no problems whatsoever with connecting elsewhere.

My connections make no harm in other way.

I Have made some mess in my setting up OS, but mostly running okay. I bought a german-make optiplex, german-windows - used a usb with windows-install.

Maybe I should make a Microsoft-installation again........

Are there differens in MS-usb-install vs. Dell-OS-Recovery-install?

Hi

I use TINY W11 and also prefer to use RUFUS  as there are options built in.  Obviously it does not have any proprietary DELL software at all.

Sometimes it is possible to connect a Mobile/Smartphone to a PC with a USB cable and tether them together for internet access.

To download the Danish version of Windows 11 Pro, the official and safest option is to use Microsoft’s website, where you can download the multi-edition Windows 11 ISO and select Danish as your preferred language:

  1. Go to Microsoft’s official Windows 11 download page for Denmark: microsoft.com/da-dk/software-download/windows11.

Du kan downloade en officielt dansk Windows 11 Pro ISO direkte fra Microsofts officielle danske hjemmeside. Følg disse trin:

  1. Gå til Microsofts officielle downloadside: microsoft.com/da-dk/software-download/windows11.

  2. Scroll ned til sektionen “Download Windows 11-diskafbildning (ISO) til x64-enheder”.

  3. Vælg “Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO)” i rullemenuen, og klik “Download”.

  1. Scroll to the section titled “Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)”.

  2. In the dropdown, select “Windows 11 (multi‑edition ISO)”, then click Confirm.

  3. You’ll then be prompted to choose your language—select “Danish”.

  4. Click the download link that appears to get the ISO file.

  5. You can use this ISO to install Windows 11 Pro and select Danish during installation.

Alternatively, you can also purchase and directly download Windows 11 Pro (Danish) from the Microsoft Store in Denmark.

@anne_droid Thank you - very instructive guide.Nice translation......(?)!

I will do that MS-iso. - BUT: maybe I would like to try using Dell´s bloatware, maybe there are some good stuff. I think Dell`s pc are very good - in many ways.

My pc came with win 11 pro, but I will customize it , I care about MS-"looking eyes".
