Zino HD stops internet when connected

Hello I have the following all connected together.

  1. 32inch      Samsung LED TV with HDMI input.
  2. Samsung blue ray DVD player with HDMI output
  3. Humax freesat (satellite) box with HDMI output.
  4. TP link wireless internet router, connected to  the Humax freesat box via an RJ45 plug.

The TV, Freesat and DVD player are all linked via HDMI leads and in this set up all works well.

I had a bright idea to connect a PC to this setup so I could have internet on the TV. I had a Dell Zino / inspiron 400 HD running Windows 7 and used that. The Dell PC has Wifi and an RJ45 type connection for the web. The plan was to connect the Dell via the HDMI sockets.

Now the problem. Remember before I connect this Dell the system 1 to 4 works perfectly.

If I connect the Dell via either of the following three ways (RJ45 cat lead to router, HDMI lead to TV, VGA screen lead to TV) the internet connection ceases immediately and the windows on screen icon states ‘local area only’

As soon as I remove the lead in use the TP link box recovers the internet connection / access. The TP link unit is definitely ‘loosing’ the connection as other remote devices also loose the internet for the duration. I have tried my idea with other computers and the internet works fine so i am confident the Zino is the issue. I can google it and find others having similar PC / HDMI / internet issues but no cures have been posted. It would be nice to resolve it so can anyone make any suggestions as to what is wrong please?

Thanks Andy

It was the PSU.
I tried an HP one that by coincidence was the same plug and voltage, just 2 amps more oomph.  It worked perfectly.
Result.

HDMI is not networking so I doubt that is what is causing your network connectivity issues.

Download and read the Freesat manual. We don't have that here in the USA.

Hi, Freesat is just a form of satellite RX with a HDD to record TV.

whilst I am no expert I can now say that I have checked the IP address of
each machine and they are all set to DHCP which if I am correct means only the
router keeps its address as fixed and the other connecting devices get issued a
different address each time they connect.

I have tried other devices, they work as does the broadband. But if I connect the Dell Zino via either the HDMI
or VGA to the TV or RJ45 cat cable to the router the broadband stops dead. Just
having the Dell powered up but not connected to the TV / router etc means the
broadband is OK.

The link has to be the wires from the Dell. Perhaps the
Dell is radiating '<ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU>' via the leads?
