Switch WLAN with Code
Hi Dell-Experts,
one simple question I'm looking for quite some time for a good answer:
Switching WLAN on/off with FN + F2 (Dell Vostro 3550) is one thing to do manually.
Is there a way to do this with code? E.g. VB.Net, PowerShell, C#, ....?
A definite answer I would highly appreciate!
Regards
Hans

HGVS,
I have no information in my database that would create this code. You could try doing and internet search for some codes that may be able to perform the task you are wanting for turning on your wifi.
For me to better assist in troubleshooting, please click my DELL-Jesse L and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your Dell Order number.
You would click my name in blue, then on the next page in the upper right corner, click the words "send private message"

Hi Jesse,
thanks for your reply! Well, I tried to click your "blue" name but couldn't find the "send private message".
In the lack of this feature let me explain what I have tried so far:
Using netsh, WMI, Devcon - all tools to possibly influence the "hardware-environment" (not only, of course!). Nothing helped.
My latest idea is to use "sendkey"!? Unfortunately I have not found a decent program to tell me the code of any key I pressed (or have simply overlooked it??). Dell itself must have put a keycode behind FN I guess. Can't imagine that it is a "hardwired" function inside my laptop.
Can you find out this code and tell me?
Best Regards
Hans

Hi Jesse,
in the meantime I found a little tool to show the code behind (nearly) every key you press.
Nothing is shown with the FN-key. So it really seems that this key is hardwired with some electronic inside the laptop. So it isn't really no surprise to me that nothing seems to works to get this function "on-the-air".
Seems like no way!
Thanks for your help so far!
Best Regards
Hans
