No Bluetooth on Latitude E5540 although Wifi is working (Intel Dual Band AC-7260 BT + Wifi)

Hi,

as described, I can't get bluetooth on my E5540 laptop, altough the chip is working great (Intel Dual Band AC-7260 BT + Wifi). I don't use it so much so I discovered it a few days ago:

Win7 was showing an 'unknown device' that was clearly referencing to BT.

After a round of Microsoft/Dell/Intel updates, there are no more 'unknown devices' but still no trace of BT (as you can see in the following picture).

Help?

Thanks in advance

Hi Brad,

thanks for the advice. I tried indeed everything and more, but no bluetooth device was to be seen... I finally checked the BIOS, and here we are:

SOLVED.

The issue was indeed related to an option: "do you want the physical button on the left to control: wifi, wifi + bluetooth...". I probably unexpectedly unchecked bluetooth, so there was no more way to power it on.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

I would try running diagnostics for the bluetooth here: http://dell.to/2cLlEWL;

You can try other suggestions/troubleshooting at this link as well. Unless the bluetooth was disabled somehow or the wireless was turned off it should be enabled. Another option is to try downloading and installing the drivers manually (as provided at that link)

Best regards,

Brad
