Laptop freezes when connected to internet via WiFi
I am using Dell inspiron 15r laptop, with Windows 7 ultimate on it. Whenever I connect to the internet via WiFi, after some time, most of the programs which I use get freezed, and the connection to the internet is cut off. Even control panel functions do not happen. Normal shutting down is also not possible, and I have to force shut down by long pressing the power button. This situation arises only when I use the WiFi. When I use a LAN cable, no problem arises. This situation is quite irritating, as many times I have no option but to use wi-fi and whenever I use it after every few minutes, I am being forced to restart forcefully, and the cycle repeats. Please suggest a solution. Thank you.

Hello Brad,
I have tried the diagnostics thing, but couldn't get anything out of it. But, the issue is resolved now as I updated the networking drivers from the Dell site, and currently I am facing no such problems, which I used to.
Thanks very much for the help.
Regards,
Sunil.

Hi thisisforsunil,
Have you tried running diagnostics on the WiFi card/system? Specific instructions to do this can be found here by inserting your Service Tag after clicking "product support" at this link: http://dell.to/2cX9KJp
Another option is to look at the Service Manual (from the link above) and try to remove/reinsert the WiFi card (it could be something simple like this).
If you can send me a private message with your Service Tag (do not post it in this thread), I can provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps to try.
Best regards,
Brad
