Intermittent Wireless Connectivity

We have the Dell Inspiron 14" Ultra-Thin laptop. We have the same intermittent lose of wireless connectivity ass many people I have seen on here. The wireless on our laptop is 1703 802.11b/g/n. When I look for updated drivers, it says they are current. Any suggestions on how to fix this connection problem?

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,

Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, then select your operating system. Under Network, download and install the latest drivers.

Try these tweaks....

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.

Thanks for your help Rick. I made the change and we will see if it helps.

The service tag is most likely located on the back of your laptop. You should see a combination of letters and a number; usually six characters. When you locate this information and go to the dell support page, you can enter this number in the section that says "Service Tag" and select submit. The site will then load a picture of your computer, provide a link for system configuration, a link for the manual, and it will provide an option to search for drivers. You can also select "Detect my system" and the site will download / install the Dell System Detect application which will search for your Service Tag and then it will load the information on the page.
