they not sleeping nor hibernating, so that i can access bi directional communications. At some point without fail, sleep or a device tries to reduce consumption, hence drops off network temp. i have 2 net printers and 2 machines, non terminator kind, but HOWWW TO KEEP EITHER ALIVE, WITHOUT SLEEP OR HIBERNATE. SCREENSAVER WONT CUT IT. THANK YOU MY GEEKY BUDDIES. ITS A BIOTCH IN WHEELCHAIR BOUNCING BETWEEN THE TWO.

baylenny,
I would first make sure the wireless router is on channel 1, 6 or 11, I prefer channel 11.
On each computer...
Try these tweaks....
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your network adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
I would also do this for the Ethernet and Bluetooth connections.
Windows and x keys at the same time, power options, choose when to turn off the display, change advanced power settings. Change the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.
The printers may be a small issue. I have a printer that sleeps, but it wakes up when a Print command is sent to it, so sleep should be a non issue, other than the waiting for the printer to wake.
If you know the printers IP Address, enter it in the address bar and you should be able to access the printers settings.
Virus programs and firewalls can block communications.
