OS10 Upgrade on S4128 Switches fails
Hi everyone,
I am currently updating the mgmt-switches of a client. In total 12 of them. 4 of them are S4112, the rest are S4128.
On all of them OS10 is installed in different versions. I have successfully upgraded 8 out of 12. 2 switches need to wait as i first need the OS10 10.5.0.0 version to be installed on those before i can jump to 10.5.5.10. The other 2 switches which have the model S4128, I couldn't upgrade. Those 2 switches are on version 10.5.2.7 build 374 and everytime I try to upgrade them the installation of the upgrade fails. After the install failure, a login is not possible anymore until i reboot the switch which is only possile by pulling the plugs. (only accessible per ssh) The version I am updating the switches to is version 10.5.5.10.
This is the way I am upgrading the switches:
- Check OS Version - show version
- Export Config - copy config://startup.xml ftp://user:password@ipaddress/Dell/MGMTSWConfig/MGMTSW32.xml
- Download OS from FTP - image download ftp://user:password@ipaddress/Dell/OS10_10.5.5.10.253/PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-10.5.5.10.253buster-installer-x86_64.bin
- Check Download Progress - show image status
- Install OS after finished download - image install image://PKGS_OS10-Enterprise-10.5.5.10.253buster-installer-x86_64.bin
- Check for Installation Progress - show image status
- show boot
- boot system standby
- reload
Can somebody please help?
