OS10 for PowerSwitch S4128F-ON/S4128T-ON
Hello,
We have a PowerSwitch S4128F-ON/S4128T-ON with an older OS10 installation. We want to update OS10 on it but the warranty has expired for the switch. The "Dell SmartFabric OS10 Installation, Upgrade, and Downgrade Guide" at https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-ie/smartfabric-os10-emp-partner/ee-upgrade-downgrade/upgrading-os10-software?guid=guid-29a7887c-d5ed-4896-9cc6-9dcd614c0aee&lang=en-us states "A factory-loaded OS10 image includes a perpetual license". It came factory loaded to the best of my knowledge.
Where can we download OS10 from please?
Many thanks in advance.
Sean

Hello,
10.5.1.1 to 10.6.0.1
Take a look at the installation-upgrade-downgrade guide
page 20 : https://dl.dell.com/content/manual36825897-dell-smartfabric-os10-installation-upgrade-and-downgrade-guide.pdf?language=en-us
It says from 10.5.1.x you can upgrade to 10.5.2.x or later. Or Later means you can go straight to 10.6.0.x
There is a separate section about upgrading VLT (2 switches)
If you have VLT, page 31 has how to upgrade VLT with minimal traffic loss. just have to follow the document.

Hello,
A factory-loaded OS10 image comes with a perpetual license, which allows the OS10 to run beyond the initial 120-day trial period.
While the perpetual license allows continued use of the OS10 software, access to software updates and support is limited without an active support contract.
To note here that there is a new location for software downloads, which recently replaced the Dell Digital Locker (DDL).

Hi Charles,
Thank you very much for your assistance. It is very much appreciated.
It looks like OS10 version 10.6.0.1 is the latest version we are entitled to. The switch is currently running version 10.5.1.1. Is it possible to upgrade directly from 10.5.1.1 to 10.6.0.1 in one step or is it necessary to upgrade through intermediate versions?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi, skipping intermediate versions may lead to unexpected behavior or failed upgrades. So your path seems pretty good to me
10.5.1.x -> 10.5.2.x -> 10.5.3.x -> 10.5.4.x -> 10.5.5.x -> 10.5.6.x -> 10.6.0.x.

Thanks @DELL-Charles R. We will just upgrade straight to 10.6.0.1 from currently running version 10.5.1.1P1 instead of iterating through each individual intermediate update version. That saves a lot of work. Your time and effort is very much appreciated.
