NMM for Exchange 2010 and incremental backups

I was working on configuring Exchange backups that included incremental backups as well as a full backup.  I was performing this configuration based on this EMC thread Re: How do an incremental backup of Exchange using information from the vidda2.docx file towards the bottom of the thread.  Where I am encountering an issue and would like some assistance is that after the initial backup in the morning which is a full backup it does not reschedule for the incremental backups.  It just reschedules for the next full backup the next morning.  Here are some screen shots from the setup we have.  I know some of the settings are a little different (mainly due to continueed testing and attempts to get the schedule\reschedule of the incremental to work) and wanted to see if any of these are the reason it is not rescheduling for the incremental backups or if it is something else that we have over looked.

Note** - I can start the job manually any time after the initial full is done for the day and it is always performing an incremental but just not via a schedule.

I have attached some screen shots of our configuration.  Any help in getting this configured correctly would be greatly appreciated.

Hi smehrlander

Did you follow my instructions in that post regarding the group configuration?

You send information of the pool configuration (which is wrong, by the way, as in the data source you need to include the group), but that is not too relevant, as the key here is 2 aspects:

1.- Snapshot policy (will allow you to run more than one backup a day, based on the config)

2.- Group interval (will indicate how many times backup will run)

Having this said, please check the post again and follow the instructions I describe in the first answer shown (which is the one marked as correct), then please give it a go.

You need to change the snapshot policy to allow more than 1 per day, otherwise that will be your first "bottleneck".

Then you need to change the group interval to indicate how often the group is going to run (in hours), so you have set 8, meaning you want it to run 3 times per day? (24/8=3).

Disable the autorestart option, and also please set the inactivity timeout to 0

Please review the explanations about snapshot policy in that post and reconfigure accordingly and please let us know how it goes.

Thank you,

Carlos

It was the Snapshot policy that required adjustment.  The rest of the settings were actually reverted to the original way I had them for the group.
