Networker 2018.2 directives issues

Hi,

I have a large saveset (130TB) and a folder within (~70TB) called "Temis" and would like to exclude this folder, all files and subfolders, so that I can back up the Temis folder as a seperate NDMP policy (from Isilon to Data Domain, and also clone to tape)
I have created a directive to exclude the folder and files / subfolders but every combination I try and test, the folder backs up. The unsuccessful examples I have tried (amongst numerous others) are:

<< /ifs/Dublin/GnG/MIXED/archivelonisicl02/Temis >> +skip: * .?*

<< /ifs/Dublin/GnG/MIXED/archivelonisicl02/Temis >> +skip: *.*

Would anyone be able to provide the correct directive text to exclude all files and folders inside the path below:

/ifs/Dublin/GnG/MIXED/archivelonisicl02/Temis

Many thanks,

Stuart.

You cannot use directives with NDMP save sets. You must define each path by itself.

Why? - because no backup client/agent can be installed who could help you reading and following it when creating the worklist. This is general NDMP behavior and not even NW specific.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. This of course makes sense, the directives work our Linux clients with the Networker client installed.
