Is there a NetWorker directive to Skip locked/Corrupt files/folders?

We've recently started backing up DFS volumes with NetWorker (vers 19.1.1.1).

We've have some failures with regard to not being able to read certain directories, the backup completes successfully apart from failing on a corrupt folder. We are investigating the corrupt folder but need to get past this issue for the time being.

I know there are directives to skip certain files/folders and we are testing with those but is there a directive to specifically skip any files or folders that cannot be read?

Thanks,
Carl

No - such directive/asm does not exist.

You may either leave the save set list alias 'all' and use an exclude/skip directive. However, I don't know what will happen when the filesystem 'walker' will encounter a directory with a defective name.

Another method would be to setup a save set list which does not include the filesystem/directory in question.

IMHO the best way would be to repair the filesystem - you have to do it anyway.

If it is a missing file/folder then you could use this in the backup command, but if a filesystem is corrupted then there is no way to avoid NetWorker from traversing that path. As @bingo.1 already mentioned fixing the filesystem is the best shot you have.

In case of missing files use save -a '"ignore-all-missing-system-files=yes"'
